— SAPONIFICATION REACTOR —

Saponification reactor for bar soap production plants

The saponification reactor is a pressure vessel used for the rapid and complete saponification of slurries composed of neutral fats, fatty acids or a mixture of both substances.
Soaptec is an Italian company specialised in the design, construction, and marketing of saponification reactors for brand new plants intended for the production of bar soap, or to be installed in already established plants.
Our company offers both catalogue sales and customised production.

Our team, made up of highly qualified technicians and engineers, is able to realise saponification reactors based on clients’ needs, customised in every part, and perfectly adhering to the customer’s requests.

SAPONIFICATION REACTOR—

Characteristics and technical specifications

Thanks to their compliance with most national and international standards, Soaptec’s saponification reactors are used in plants all over the world. In particular, they are developed in accordance with UNI and ASME, Sec. VIII, Div. 1, although, at the request of the customer, it is possible to conform the pressure vessels and their internal components to other standards.
Customers can also request certification according to the ASME standard by subjecting the saponification reactors to inspection by our partner inspectors.
In addition, Soaptec performs strict controls on the manufactured products to test their overall quality.
The resistance and sturdiness of Soaptec’s saponification reactors is exceptional. To ensure maximum reliability and durability, all parts of the product in contact with the soap are made of AISI 316 stainless steel. The support skirt is made of painted carbon steel.
Finally, our company equips all saponification reactors with accessories, instruments and valves produced by leading companies in the field, such as Endress + Hauser and Spirax Sarco.

How bar soap production saponification reactors work

Over the years, Soaptec has developed a state-of-the-art saponification reactor that combines excellent performance with maximum ease of use thanks to two special features: the vertical development and the division of the chamber into sections.
Unlike competitor products, our reactors are vertically developed. This minimises the overall foot-print of the machine, making the plant more functional.
Soaptec saponification reactors are divided internally into four sections by diaphragm design structures which ensure that the soap is well mixed as it passes through the body.
The recycle pump, located close to the reactor, also mixes the soap optimally and vigorously, recycling up to 40 times the nominal flow rate of the system in one hour. The reactor is also equipped with steam heating coils that aid the saponification process by creating high pressure and temperature conditions.
The control panel of the saponification reactor is equipped with a Scada (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) system, which allows temperature, pressure and flow to be controlled and regulated quickly and intuitively.
According to the customer’s requirements, raw material dosages are measured by means of high-precision flowmeters that control the dosing pumps, or dosing valves, via a PLC (programmable logic controller) system.
The saponification reactors are equipped with all necessary nozzlers for the connection, so to simplify assembly by external personnel.
